Three years ago, NGIN Workplace opened with a mission to be the guiding light for success for entrepreneurs. Today, we still strive to be that beacon. The success of our previous members still shines bright long after they have left us here at NGIN. From establishing cooking schools to advances in life-saving medical research, our past members continue to make us proud of their accomplishments. Their dedication to their work is what keeps our community thriving and motivated. As the fresh summer air starts to roll in and we begin to wish we were outside enjoying it, our community works overtime to be productive. Success comes for those who work hard, and with it, our members accomplish more than they could ever dream.
One of the biggest honors one can receive is funding. Recently, Arrakis Therapeutics, who had been with us since June 2016, was awarded a $38 million series to continue their work targeting RNA with small-molecule medicines. This marks a huge advancement for the company, and we hope that they will continue to make strides with their research. Likewise, our first ever member of NGIN, LiquidGlide, has also reached an important milestone. They were awarded $16 million in funding this year and given the title of “The Leading Slippery Coating in the Industry” with over 150 applications worldwide. From humble beginnings at NGIN till now, these companies are a sign of perseverance and success for all entrepreneurs.
Success doesn’t just come in the form of grants and funding. Sometimes, it comes in the form of awards. Dover Life Sciences, another previous NGIN community member from May of 2016, was awarded an honor from Cydan Development to support their work with innovations for individuals with rare conditions. Another previous community member, iZotope, won awards for Outstanding Technical Achievement at the 32nd Annual NAMM Technical Excellence and Creativity Awards, the highest honor awarded to companies in the audio and sound industry. These companies all deserve the awards that have been given to them, and we may see even more on the horizon! Who knows what the future will hold?
Other successes should never be ignored. Sometimes successes are defined by the breakthroughs in research and technology. Emulate Bio announced that their signature “Organs-on-chips” technologies have now expanded to model viral infections in humans, opening up new opportunities to study infectious diseases and predicting bodily responses to new medicines. This technology can be used to cut down a number of allergic reactions to medicines, helping doctors predict disasters before they occur. Kinapse, yet another previous member, has been named in the list of the top 1000 companies that inspire Britain, an international feat for a company who has made its temporary home in Cambridge, Massachusetts!
Success comes in many different forms, from the award that goes to the bank to the award that is framed in the office. We here at NGIN strive for the success of our community members. Once a part of the NGIN family, always a part of the NGIN family. Congratulations to all of the previous members of the NGIN community on all of their accomplishments in the past, present, and in the future. We will always be here to support our entrepreneurs, even long after they have said goodbye.
